In 2017/2018, a first ethnological provenance project was carried out at the Roemer- und Pelizaeus-Museum Hildesheim. The results of this research could be seen in the exhibition "With 80 objects around the world" until March 31, 2019 and will now be presented in the exhibition "On the trail of the collectors". They are now supplemented by a series of impressive portraits of East Africans by the artist Walter von Ruckteschell. The 1921 published folder with the lithographed portraits served the propaganda for a recovery of the German colonies.
